Knowing how to save a life is simple. With great advances in modern medicine, simple things like CPR can make all the difference between life an death. Woodinville Fire & Rescue offers classes in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Emergency Care Awareness.
American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED teaches CPR for all age groups (adult, child and infant). Also included is the use of an AED machine. Classes typically last 3 hours and include practice on CPR manikins. A certification card is given to participants upon successful completion of the course.

This class is perfect for children's groups such as scouts or school groups. The class covers basic bandaging, splinting and hands-only CPR skills. The material is presented in a fun and hands-on style of teaching. There is no fee for this class. The class typically last 1 hour. Woodinville Fire can provide skills testing and final certification for HeartCode BLS (formerly BLS for Healthcare Provider). Students can take the online portion of the class (step 1) and then come to Station 31 for practice (step 2) and skills testing (step 3). The online course can be found at www.onlineaha.org/courses and costs $28.50. To arrange a time for practice and skills testing, contact Catherine Breault at 425-483-4481. Cost for the skills check and issued certification card is $15. (An online certificate of completion must be in hand before skills test will be administered.) Skill check times are Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm. depending on availability of instructors. Testing is typically scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance.
