In April, the Northshore Fire Department had asked its voters whether to approve merging with Woodinville Fire & Rescue. Northshore voters turned down the proposal during the Special Election. This outcome will not impact emergency service levels for residents and businesses served by either agency.

The agencies have been sharing administrative positions (chief, deputy chief, chief administrative officer) and departments (human resources and payroll) for the past year and a half. The Boards of Fire Commissioners for both agencies will meet over the next few months to determine the status of these interlocal agreements and the partnership.
